Dan In Real Life Q&A

2) What are 3 tips you would give parents of teenagers?
  • Make them understand the consequences of their actions
  • Trust your kids. You raised them, after all.
  • Procrastination - teach against it early.
  • Be open minded.
  • Just as your kids have to listen to you, you have to listen to your kids.
4)  With his speeding and falling in love so fast, do you think Dan wants his kids to "do as I say, not as I do"? Is that fair?
Dan does want his kids to do as he says, not as he does. It is fair, in my opinion. It's just how parents are. They just want their kids to be the best they can. Regardless of mistakes, Dan wants his kids to be the best.

7) Can you know in three days that you love someone?
In my opinion, no, you can't know in 3 days. Typically in 3 days, not a lot is known about the other person. Most of the time, they are just getting to know each other. Even if you think you know everything about one another, chances are you might not.

13) Do you think well-traveled people like Marie are more interesting than the rest of us?
It depends. Such a person could still have a boring personality or could be awful at storytelling. However, I think that well-traveled people are almost inherently more interesting. They can just talk about so much more than things outside of rustic peoples' bubbles. They bring so many different cultures and stories. These topics are more interesting than regular stories, because they're so different in culture.

  1. I am going to heed your warning and work to discourage procrastination in my son. He's 11 and prone to it. I'm 38 and might be, too. : )
